Custom Cat Mugs for Every Kind of Morning
Each design starts with a real photo of your cat, so the cat on the mug has the right white mittens, the crooked whisker and the look that says breakfast is four minutes late. A few styles, and who they suit:
- Clean and simple: the Personalized Cat Photo Mug sets your cat large on a white background with a little heart doodle by the ears and the name in plum below. It is the classic cat photo mug, easy to give to anyone.
- Office humor: the Cat Employee of the Month Mug frames your cat in a tiny necktie as "Head of Napping & Keyboard Sitting", a title every work-from-home cat has earned.
- Several cats, one building: on the Cat Apartment Multi-Cat Mug each cat leans out of its own brownstone window under a striped awning, with a building name over the door.
- Holiday mornings: the Christmas Cookie Tin Cat Mug curls your cat into a paper cupcake liner inside a royal-blue cookie tin, between pretzel cookies and sugar-dusted rounds.
- Cabin weather: the Snowy Cabin Cat Enamel Mug puts your cat in the glowing window of a needlepoint-look log cabin, with "Snowed In" and the name stitched below.
You will also find a celestial tarot card starring your cat as "The Loaf", a 90s picture-day portrait with a laser background and a comic strip where the cat ignores the gift and sits in the box.
How Your Personalized Cat Mug Is Made
- Upload a photo. Choose a design and add a photo of your cat. For multi-cat designs, add one photo per cat, up to 6 photos per item.
- See a free AI preview. It is an illustration only, there to show you the design idea before you buy.
- Our designers take over. They prepare the final artwork from your original photo and check it by hand, so the markings and eye color match your real cat.
- Made to order. Production takes 3–5 business days, and most orders arrive within 8–12 business days.
Free standard shipping on every US order. For Christmas, order at least three weeks before you need it, and earlier in December.
Mug, Enamel Mug or Tumbler: Which One to Choose
- Ceramic mug, 11 oz or 15 oz: glossy white ceramic with a classic C-shaped handle, printed in full color on both sides, so lefties and righties both see the cat. The 11 oz is the standard size for a custom cat coffee mug; the 15 oz is the bigger one for tea and long mornings.
- Enamel camp mug, 12 oz: white enamel with a rolled silver rim and a curved metal handle, printed on the front. It suits the porch-coffee and campfire crowd, like the Cat Dad Camp Counselor Enamel Mug.
- Tumbler, 20 oz: a skinny stainless steel tumbler with a white powder-coat finish, a clear press-on lid and a reusable straw. The design wraps all the way around, which makes a personalized cat tumbler the one that travels.
- Stemless wine tumbler, 12 oz: egg-shaped stainless steel with a white powder-coat finish and a clear press-on lid, for wine night or iced tea on the porch.
The photo matters more than the mug. Pick a sharp one taken in soft daylight at your cat's eye level, with both ears in the frame, and upload the original file rather than a screenshot. Our photo guidelines help with black cats, fluffy long-hairs and other tricky subjects.
Gift Ideas: Who Gets Which Custom Cat Mug
- The cat mom: for a cat mom mug with a twist, the Cat Mom Latte Art Mug blends her cat's face into the milk foam under "Cat Mom Fuel", and the Chateau wine tumbler turns her cat into a vintage label. More in our gifts for cat moms.
- The cat dad: the Cat Dad Fishing Club Mug shows his cat proudly holding the catch of the day. Browse more cat dad gifts.
- The holiday host: the Scandinavian folk "God Jul" mug, the mid-century "Meowy Christmas" mug and the sticker-sheet tumbler sit with our other Christmas cat gifts.
- The birthday person (or birthday cat): the comic strip mug and the papel picado tumbler with "Feliz Cumple" are among our cat birthday gifts.
A custom cat mug also works as a quiet thank-you for the neighbor who feeds your cat when you travel. Put their favorite houseguest on it and they will think of you every morning.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the design printed on both sides of the mug?
On our ceramic mugs, yes: the design is printed in full color on both sides and the handle stays plain white, so it looks right in either hand. The enamel camp mugs are printed on the front, and the tumblers have a design that wraps around the body.
Should I get the 11 oz or the 15 oz mug?
The 11 oz is a standard coffee mug and fits most cupboards and coffee makers. The 15 oz is taller and holds a big tea or a long morning's coffee, and the design is the same on both. If the gift is for a serious coffee drinker, the 15 oz is the safer pick.
What kind of photo works best for a cat mug?
A sharp photo in soft daylight, taken at your cat's eye level with the face in focus and both ears in the frame. Upload the original file from your phone, not a screenshot or a photo sent through a messaging app. If a photo won't print well, we email you before printing.
Can I put more than one cat on a mug?
Yes. Our multi-cat designs fit two to five cats, and the Cat Apartment Multi-Cat Mug is made for multi-cat homes, with each cat in its own window. Upload a separate photo of each cat, up to 6 photos per item, because separate photos give a much cleaner result than one group shot.
Will my mug look exactly like the AI preview?
Not exactly. The AI preview is an illustration that shows the design idea. Our designers then prepare the final artwork from your original photo and check it by hand, so the mug shows your cat's real markings, and small differences from the preview are normal.
What if my mug arrives chipped or misprinted?
Email us within 30 days of delivery with your order number and photos of the mug and the box. We will remake it or refund you, and you don't need to send the broken mug back.
