Cat Memorial Gifts to Keep Them Close
When a cat dies, the house goes quiet in very particular places: the windowsill, the end of the bed, the chair nobody else was allowed to use. A memorial piece can give one of those places something to hold. These cat memorial keepsakes each show your own cat, with the name and years you choose and, on most designs, a short line of your own.
- Cat Memorial Star Map Blanket: your cat's portrait in a softly glowing circle on a navy night sky traced with fine gold constellation lines. Soft plush fleece with a cream sherpa back, something to wrap around your shoulders on the hard evenings.
- Cat Memorial Window Canvas: a painterly dusk scene with your cat on an open windowsill, seen from behind, looking up at the stars. Because the face isn't shown, it is a gentle choice when your photos are a little soft.
- Coastal Sunset Cat Memorial Canvas: a calm beach at sunset in peach and lilac, with your cat painted softly into the clouds above the horizon.
- Pressed Wildflower Cat Memorial Suncatcher: clear acrylic about 5 inches across, printed in translucent colors so daylight glows through a ring of wildflowers and your cat's portrait.
- Cat Memorial Garden Gate Metal Sign: an open gate under climbing roses, with your cat resting on the sunlit path beyond. Aluminum with four pre-drilled corner holes, for a mudroom, a sunroom or a wall by the back door (best displayed indoors).
There is also the Cat Memorial Stained Glass Blanket, which places your cat in an arched window of sunrise colors, and a small collection of cat memorial ornaments in porcelain and acrylic.
How We Make a Memorial Keepsake
- Upload the photos you have, up to 6 per item. If one shows the face best and another shows the markings, send both.
- See a free AI preview. It is an illustration to help you picture the design, not the final print.
- Our designers prepare the final artwork from your original photo and check it by hand, so the coat, markings and eye color stay true to your cat.
- Each of our cat memorial gifts is made to order. Production takes 3–5 business days, and most orders arrive within 8–12 business days.
Free standard shipping on every US order. If anything arrives damaged or misprinted, we remake it or refund you; our returns and refunds page explains how.
Choosing a Photo of a Cat Who Has Passed
Many people worry that their photos are not good enough. Usually they are. A clear view of the face with both eyes visible matters more than a perfect picture, and older phone photos are often fine. If you can, choose one from an ordinary good day rather than the last weeks, because it is the face you will see for years.
- Only a printed photo? Photograph it in daylight, straight on and without glare, and upload that.
- Dark or slightly blurry? Upload it anyway and add a request in the "Notes for our designer" box, such as "please brighten the photo" or "keep the red collar". If we think the print may disappoint you, we email you before printing.
- Match the photo to the design. The garden sign shows your cat sitting, so a full-body photo helps; the blankets, the suncatcher and the porcelain ornaments use the head and shoulders.
Our photo guidelines have more examples.
The Name, the Dates and a Few Words
Words written in memory of a cat do not need to be long. Each design has room for the name and the years. Our examples use lines such as "Forever in the stars" and "Always in Bloom in My Heart", but you can write your own, use the nickname you actually called them, or on many designs leave the years out. A few words read better than a long sentence, especially on a curved banner or a small ornament. We print exactly what you type, so check the spelling and dates before you order.
For Your Own Home or for Someone Grieving
Cat remembrance gifts can stay in your own home, and loss of cat gifts sent to a friend tell them their cat is remembered too. If it is for someone else, use a photo they have shared of their cat and check the name with someone close to them. You can enter their address at checkout and the gift goes straight to them.
There is no wrong time. A card in the first days says you know, and a keepsake that arrives a few weeks later, or near the first holidays or an anniversary, says you still remember. For a first gesture, our cat sympathy gifts include an ornament and card in a kraft gift box. For something soft to use every day, see our custom cat blankets.
Personalized cat memorial gifts are only one way to honor a cat. Our guide to cat memorial ideas has more ways to honor a cat at home, and coping with the loss of a cat is there for the harder days.
Frequently Asked Questions
I only have old or blurry photos of my cat. Can you still make a memorial gift?
Usually, yes. Upload the best photos you have, up to 6, and tell us in the Notes for our designer box what matters to you. If you only have a print, photograph it in daylight without glare. If we think the result may disappoint you, we email you before printing.
What is a good memorial gift for the loss of a cat?
Something that shows that particular cat tends to mean the most: their face, their name and their years. A blanket suits someone who wants comfort, a canvas or suncatcher suits a favorite window or wall, and an ornament gives the cat a place each December.
Can I add my own words, or leave the dates out?
Yes. Replace our example line with your own short words, use a nickname, or on many designs keep only the name. Shorter text reads best. We print exactly what you type, so please check spelling and years carefully before ordering.
Can I send a memorial gift straight to someone who lost their cat?
Yes. Enter their address as the shipping address at checkout and the gift goes directly to them. Because it is made to order, allow about 8–12 business days, and you may want to let them know something gentle is on its way.
How long does a memorial gift take to arrive?
Production takes 3–5 business days, and most orders arrive within 8–12 business days. If you would like it by an anniversary or the holidays, order at least three weeks before you need it, and earlier in December.
What happens if it arrives damaged or misprinted?
Email us at support@personalizedcatgifts.com within 30 days of delivery with your order number and a few photos of the item and the box. We will remake it free of charge or refund you, and you do not need to send it back.
