This cat memorial night light is shaped like an old porch lantern, the kind people leave on for someone who is on their way home. Inside the glass, your cat’s portrait glows warmly, as if it were the light itself.

A porch light left on

The clear acrylic panel is laser-cut to the outline of an old-fashioned lantern, with a scrolled iron cap and hook at the top, the glass body in the middle and a sturdy base below. The dark iron-look outline of the lantern keeps the shape easy to read whether the light is on or off.

Your cat’s head and shoulders fill the lantern’s glass, made from your photo and softened with a warm amber vignette, so the portrait seems to give off the glow. A few tiny illustrated fireflies drift just outside the glass on either side. Across the base, a parchment-cream scrolled banner holds three lines: a short phrase in soft handwritten script, your cat’s name larger in a rounded vintage serif, and the years in small spaced numerals. Our example reads Leaving the Light On for You / Biscuit / 2010 – 2025 for a senior orange-and-white Maine Coon mix; you type your cat’s name, add the years in “Text on your gift”, and can ask for a different short phrase in the notes for our designer.

Our designers then prepare the final artwork from your original photo, fit the portrait inside the lantern glass and check every detail by hand, including the name and years on the banner, before printing.

The portrait fills the lantern’s glass, so a head-and-shoulders photo with the face in sharp focus works best.
