The design: one face, many rows

Our designers cut your cat’s face out of your photo and repeat it in neat diagonal rows across a blush-pink background. Tiny plum hearts and little fish bones fill the spaces between the faces, and a small rounded name tag with your cat’s name pops up every few faces, the way a designer label repeats on fancy fabric. Everything is printed edge to edge, so the pattern runs right to the stitched border.

You personalize the face and the name. Our example uses Biscuit; you enter your own cat’s name, and it repeats in small letters on every tag. Our designers then prepare the final artwork from your original photo, cutting out the face cleanly and checking the repeat by hand before printing.

Photo tips for a repeat pattern

Only the face is used, so pick a front-facing photo where both eyes, the nose and both ears are clearly visible and nothing covers the face, such as a paw, a toy or a blanket edge. Soft, even daylight matters more than the background, because we remove the background anyway. Get close: a phone photo where the face fills most of the frame keeps the whiskers sharp when it is repeated dozens of times. A relaxed, content expression repeats beautifully; a mid-yawn photo repeats hilariously. Our photo guidelines show good and poor examples.
