This custom black cat Halloween shirt borrows its look from the embossed cardboard decorations that once hung in shop windows and classrooms every fall. A crescent moon with a sly smile, a grinning jack-o’-lantern, two tiny bats – and your own cat, perched on the moon as if it has been booked for the role every October since 1932.

The design: a vintage die-cut Halloween scene

A big mustard crescent moon fills the left two-thirds of the print, opening to the right with its smiling face on the inner curve. Your cat’s photo, with the background removed, sits on the moon’s lower inner curve, tail hanging down over the edge. A jack-o’-lantern grins from the lower right, and two small bats flutter at the upper right.

Every piece has a thin cream die-cut outline and a softly faded cardboard texture, in pumpkin orange, mustard, aged cream and soot black. “Spooky Season” arches across the top in chunky, wobbly 1930s lettering, orange with a cream outline. A wavy cream banner runs along the bottom with your cat’s name in rounded, spooky-cute letters. Our example reads “Salem” – you add your own cat’s name. There is no background box, so the pieces sit right on the fabric like cut-outs taped to a window.
